IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS) by IBM is a cross‑platform client for securely accessing and managing IBM i environments. Delivered as a lightweight, Java-based application, it runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux and brings everyday administrative and development tasks together in a single, modern interface. ACS is IBM’s strategic successor to older IBM i Access for Windows components and is designed for easy deployment and frequent updates.

Key capabilities include:

• 5250 display and printer emulation for interactive and batch workloads
• Database tools for Db2 for i, including Run SQL Scripts and a schemas browser
• Data Transfer utilities to move data to and from IBM i using formats like CSV and Excel
• Integrated File System and spooled file (printer output) management
• Secure connectivity with TLS and certificate/keystore management
• Command-line support and scripting for automation

An optional Windows application package complements ACS with ODBC drivers, a .NET data provider, and an Excel add‑in for direct data access.
